have a look to this webpage, with details of my science CV

I am currently Research Professor at the IAC (Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias, La Laguna, Tenerife, Spain).

I carried out undergraduate studies at Universidad Complutense (Madrid) and at Universidad de La Laguna (ULL), the PhD at ULL (1988), and a post-doc at the High Altitude Observatory (Boulder, USA). I got a permanent position at IAC in 1993, which has been my home institution ever since.

Along my career, I worked on a number of different topics, including cosmic microwave background, polarimetry, solar magnetometry, solar physics, formation and evolution of galaxies, and big data analysis. My present work is focused on constraining the nature of dark matter from astrophysical evidence.

I have around 270 scientific publications, which includes some 75 first author papers, and the edition of 5 books.

My experience includes teaching on astronomical optics (ULL) and solar magnetometry (ESMN school, The Netherlands; ITA, Norway; NAO, China). I have supervised 5 PhD theses and a number Master theses in all my fields of research.

I like outreach activities as, e.g., being part of the pool of teachers of the starlight foundation (https://en.fundacionstarlight.org/).
