  • The First Extrasolar Planet Discovered with A New Generation High Throughput Doppler Instrument
We report the first extrasolar planet, ET1, detected with a new generation Doppler instrument, called Exoplanet Tracker. This planet has a minimum mass of 0.41 Jupiter masses and orbits a V = 8.1 K0V star with a 4.8 day period. The planet was identified using the KPNO Coude Feed 0.9 meter telescope in spring 2005. This is the first time an

  • The EROs at z < 1.5 in the Groth-Westphal field of the GOYA survey
The study of the Extremly Red Objects (EROs), is the importance for setting constraints on the first epoch of massive galaxy formation, for exploring the population of dust reddened starburst and for testing models of galaxy formation in general. They are defined as objects with I-K>4(Vega). The traditional picture identifies the EROs either with

  • The Deep Impact Event as Seen from the Roque de Los Muchachos Observatory
The Roque de Los Muchachos Observatory (ORM) played a substantial role in the Deep Impact campaign. Several telescopes were used to follow up comet 9P/Tempel1 before the impact and the five largest telescopes of the ORM were used simultaneously to track the impact itself in an unprecedented way.
