Properties of oscillatory motions in a facular regionAims: We study the properties of waves in a facular region of moderate strength in the photosphere and chromosphere. Our aim is to statistically analyse the wave periods, power, and phase relations as a function of the magnetic field strength and inclination. Methods: Our work is based on observations obtained at the German Vacuum Tower TelescopeKostik, R. et al.

Propagating Waves Transverse to the Magnetic Field in a Solar ProminenceWe report an unusual set of observations of waves in a large prominence pillar that consist of pulses propagating perpendicular to the prominence magnetic field. We observe a huge quiescent prominence with the Solar Dynamics Observatory Atmospheric Imaging Assembly in EUV on 2012 October 10 and only a part of it, the pillar, which is a foot or barbSchmieder, B. et al.

Probing the Upper Scorpius mass function in the planetary-mass regimeWe present the results of a deep ZYJ near-infrared survey of 13.5 deg2 in the Upper Scorpius (USco) OB association. We photometrically selected ˜100 cluster member candidates with masses in the range of 30-5 Jupiters, according to state-of-the-art evolutionary models. We identified 67 ZYJ candidates as bona fide members, based on complementaryLodieu, N. et al.

Physical properties of simulated galaxy populations at z = 2 - II. Effects of cosmology, reionization and ISM physicsWe use hydrodynamical simulations from the OverWhelmingly Large Simulations project to investigate the dependence of the physical properties of galaxy populations at redshift 2 on the assumed star formation law, the equation of state imposed on the unresolved interstellar medium, the stellar initial mass function, the reionization history and theHaas, Marcel R. et al.

Physical properties of simulated galaxy populations at z = 2 - I. Effect of metal-line cooling and feedback from star formation and AGNWe use hydrodynamical simulations from the OverWhelmingly Large Simulations (OWLS) project to investigate the dependence of the physical properties of galaxy populations at redshift 2 on metal-line cooling and feedback from star formation and active galactic nuclei (AGN). We find that if the sub-grid feedback from star formation is implementedHaas, Marcel R. et al.
