  • Isophot-S, a low resolution 2.5 to 12 microns spectrometer for ISO
The design, spectral coverage and sensitivity of Isophot-S, one of the four sub-experiments of Isophot, are described. Isophot-S is a low resolution near infrared spectrometer, designed to take full advantage of the Infrared Space Observatory (ISO) telescope with its low infrared background, wide field of view, and the complete absence of

  • IR spectrophotometry of bright carbon stars
The results of medium resolution (R=600) spectrophotometry of 15 bright carbon stars of class N, obtained in the range of lambda:1 to 4.2 microns, are presented. Data is complemented by wide band photometry in JHKLM for a bigger sample. The selected sample of stars does not show evidence of massive circumstellar dust envelopes. The infrared flux is

  • Infrared properties of five spiral galaxies
The radial profiles of five spiral galaxies (NGC 5194, NGC 3627, NGC 3351, NGC 5055, NGC 4736) in the J and K filters of the near infrared are presented. They were taken with the 1.5 m Carlos Sanchez Telescope of the Observatorio del Teide (Tenerife). The infrared photometric parameters of the disk and bulge of NGC 5194 (M51), are calculated. The

  • Chemical abundances and masses of the haloes around the planetary nebulae NGC 6543 and NGC 6826
Spatial resolved low resolution spectroscopy of the haloes around the planetary nebulae NGC 6543 and NGC 6826 were conducted. The results imply that the radiation is thermal and not due to dust reflection. From those data chemical abundances and masses were calculated. Chemical abundances decrease in the haloes, while masses increase up to ten
