About me
I'm a Research Software Engineer part of the SIE (Servicios Informaticos Especificos) of the Research Area. As part of the team, I develop and/or maintain:
- The SIE HPC documentation.
- Monitoring tools to track slurm usage across different clusters.
- Visualization interface for the users to check the efficiency of their jobs.
- Logging and statistics of the use of the different modules provided by the SIE.
- Weather API for the OCAN.
And collaborate with the rest of the SIE to:
- Build custom webpages for conferences or projects.
- Install astronomical software.
- Perform system administration duties at LaPalma and the "burros".
- General technical user support.
You can find more information about the SIE here.
I also do research and technical consulting for researchers. Some of the projects that I'm involved are:
- MILESpy: a Python interface to the MILES single stellar population and stellar spectra libraries. I'm the main developer and maintainer of the package.
- PLATO. I'm in charge of the "dockerization" and maintenance of part of the Stellar Analysis System (SAS) pipeline, together with testing and CI/CD setups.
- PKDGRAV3. As part of my Thesis I implemented hydrodynamics and galaxy formation physics to the GPU-enabled N-body code PKDGRAV3. Since then, I'm the maintainer of those modules and keep working on testing and running new simulations. You can find the documentation here.
