  • Spin-up of low-mass classical bulges in barred galaxies
Secular evolution is one of the key routes through which galaxies evolve along the Hubble sequence. Not only does the disc undergo morphological and kinematic changes, but a pre-existing classical bulge may also be dynamically changed by the secular processes driven primarily by the bar. We study the influence of a growing bar on the dynamical

  • Recalibrated generalized SCIDAR measurements at Cerro Paranal (the site of the Very Large Telescope)
Generalized SCIDAR (GS) measurements, which were taken at the Paranal Observatory in 2007 November/December in the context of a site qualification for the future European Extremely Large Telescope, are recalibrated to overcome the bias induced on the ? profiles by an incorrect normalization of the autocorrelation of the scintillation maps, which

  • Planetary transit candidates in the CoRoT-SRc01 field
Context. The space mission CoRoT is devoted to the analysis of stellar variability and the photometric detection of extrasolar planets. Aims: We present the list of planetary transit candidates detected in the first short run observed by CoRoT that targeted SRc01, towards the Galactic center in the direction of Aquila, which lasted from April to

  • PG 1553+113: Five Years of Observations with MAGIC
We present the results of five years (2005-2009) of MAGIC observations of the BL Lac object PG 1553+113 at very high energies (VHEs; E > 100 GeV). Power-law fits of the individual years are compatible with a steady mean photon index Γ = 4.27 ± 0.14. In the last three years of data, the flux level above 150 GeV shows a clear variability (probability

  • Padova-Millennium Galaxy and Group Catalogue (Calvi+, 2011)
To build a catalogue that satisfies our requirements of spectroscopic and photometric completeness, we used a set of galaxies derived from the Millennium Galaxy Catalogue (MGC, Cat. VII/240), a B-band imaging survey, both deep and wide, which provides a high-quality, complete representation of the nearby galaxy populations. (5 data files).
