  • Follow-Up of Comet-Asteroid Transition Object 107P Wilson-Harrington During Its 2009 Return to Perihelium
We have been monitoring 107P comet-asteroid transition object during its 2009 return to perihelium. We have been unable of identifying any trace of cometary activity until Dec. 8, 2009.

  • Estimating the impact of recombination uncertainties on the cosmological parameter constraints from cosmic microwave background experiments
We use our most recent training set for the RICO code to estimate the impact of recombination uncertainties on the posterior probability distributions which will be obtained from future cosmic microwave background experiments, and in particular the Planck satellite. Using a Monte Carlo Markov Chain (MCMC) analysis to sample the posterior

  • Effects of [Fe/H] on the properties of Galactic classical Cepheids
Correlations have been searched for between the atmospheric [Fe/H] value and the observed amplitudes of classical Cepheids. Model calculations show that fundamental mode pulsation is unstable for solar like chemical composition between 8 and 10 days, but observations contradict the models. The ratio of the radial velocity and photometric amplitudes

  • Discovery of a 205.89 Hz Accreting Millisecond X-ray Pulsar in the Globular Cluster NGC 6440
We report on the discovery of the second accreting millisecond X-ray pulsar (AMXP) in the globular cluster NGC 6440. Pulsations with a frequency of 205.89 Hz were detected with RXTE on 2009 August 30, October 1 and October 28, during the decays of lsim4 day outbursts of a newly X-ray transient source in NGC 6440. By studying the Doppler shift of
