  • Two super-Earths at the edge of the habitable zone of the nearby M dwarf TOI-2095
The main scientific goal of TESS is to find planets smaller than Neptune around stars that are bright enough to allow for further characterization studies. Given our current instrumentation and detection biases, M dwarfs are prime targets in the search for small planets that are in (or near) the habitable zone of their host star. In this work, we

  • TOI-4600 b and c: Two Long-period Giant Planets Orbiting an Early K Dwarf
We report the discovery and validation of two long-period giant exoplanets orbiting the early K dwarf TOI-4600 (V = 12.6, T = 11.9), first detected using observations from the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) by the TESS Single Transit Planet Candidate Working Group. The inner planet, TOI-4600 b, has a radius of 6.80 ± 0.31 R ⊕ and an

  • TOI-2084 b and TOI-4184 b: Two new sub-Neptunes around M dwarf stars
We present the discovery and validation of two TESS exoplanets orbiting nearby M dwarfs: TOI-2084 b, and TOI-4184b. We characterized the host stars by combining spectra from Shane/Kast and Magellan/FIRE, spectral energy distribution analysis, and stellar evolutionary models. In addition, we used Gemini-South/Zorro & -North/Alopeke high-resolution

  • TOI-1416: A system with a super-Earth planet with a 1.07 d period
    TOI-1416 (BD+42 2504, HIP 70705) is a V =10 late G- or early K-type dwarf star. TESS detected transits in its Sectors 16, 23, and 50 with a depth of about 455 ppm and a period of 1.07 days. Radial velocities (RVs) confirm the presence of the transiting planet TOI-1416 b, which has a mass of 3.48 ± 0.47 M ⊕ and a radius of 1.62 ± 0.08 R ⊕, implying

  • The stellar halo in Local Group Hestia simulations. III. Chemical abundance relations for accreted and in situ stars
Stellar chemical abundances and kinematics provide key information for recovering the assembly history of galaxies. In this work we explore the chemo-chrono-kinematics of accreted and in situ stellar populations, by analyzing six M31/Milky Way (MW) analogues from the HESTIA suite of cosmological hydrodynamics zoom-in simulations of the Local Group

  • The stellar halo in Local Group Hestia simulations. II. The accreted component
Recent progress in understanding the assembly history of the Milky Way (MW) is driven by the tremendous amount of high-quality data delivered by Gaia (ESA), revealing a number of substructures potentially linked to several ancient accretion events. In this work we aim to explore the phase-space structure of accreted stars by analysing six M31/MW
