  • ELAIS deep X-ray survey. I. (Manners+, 2003)
The ELAIS Deep X-ray Survey (EDXS) is being conducted in the northern ELAIS regions N1 and N2. The Chandra data consist of approximately 75 ks exposures in each field. Region N1 was observed on 2000 August 3-4 (OBSID 888) and N2 on 2000 August 2-3 (OBSID 887). The nominal aimpoints were: N1, 16:10:20.11 +54:33:22.3; and N2, 16:36:46.99 +41:01:33.7

  • Coupled Fast and Alfvén MHD Waves in Sheared Coronal Arcades
The magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) normal modes of oscillation of sheared coronal arcades including longitudinal wave propagation are studied. Solutions have been computed in order to ascertain the effects of the longitudinal magnetic field component, By, and of the longitudinal propagation, ky in these structures. Our results show that whenever By = 0

  • Colour-correlated noise: can it improve the S/N of the Eddington data?
In this paper we use the SoHO/VIRGO three colour time series data to investigate how colour correlated stellar signal and noise may be used to improve the S/N of the Eddington time series. We conclude that one may implement a two-colour system on Eddington in order to reduce the amount of noise at low frequencies. We propose a blue and a red broad
