  • QUIJOTE scientific results - III. Microwave spectrum of intensity and polarization in the Taurus Molecular Cloud complex and L1527
We present new intensity and polarization observations of the Taurus Molecular Cloud (TMC) region in the frequency range 10-20 GHz with the multifrequency instrument (MFI) mounted on the first telescope of the Q-U-I-JOint TEnerife (QUIJOTE) experiment. From the combination of the QUIJOTE data with the WMAP 9-yr data release, the Planck second data

  • QSO2 outflow characterization using data obtained with OSIRIS at the Gran Telescopio Canarias
Context. Ionized outflows are ubiquitous in non-radio-loud obscured quasars (QSO2s) at different redshifts. However, the actual size of the outflows and their efficiency for gas ejection and star formation truncation are controversial. Large-scale (exceeding several kiloparsec) extended radio structures might be necessary to identify (even to

  • Qatar Exoplanet Survey: Qatar-8b, 9b, and 10b—A Hot Saturn and Two Hot Jupiters
    In this paper we present three new extrasolar planets from the Qatar Exoplanet Survey. Qatar-8b is a hot Saturn, with M P = 0.37 M J and R P = 1.3 R J, orbiting a solar-like star every P orb = 3.7 days. Qatar-9b is a hot Jupiter with a mass of M P = 1.2 M J and a radius of R P = 1 R J, in an orbit of P orb = 1.5 days around a low mass, M ⋆ = 0.7 M

  • Primeval very low-mass stars and brown dwarfs - VI. Population properties of metal-poor degenerate brown dwarfs
We presented 15 new T dwarfs that were selected from UKIRT Infrared Deep Sky Survey, Visible and Infrared Survey Telescope for Astronomy , and Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer surveys, and confirmed with optical to near-infrared spectra obtained with the Very Large Telescope and the Gran Telescopio Canarias. One of these new T dwarfs is mildly

  • Physical properties and transmission spectrum of the WASP-74 planetary system from multiband photometry
We present broad-band photometry of 11 planetary transits of the hot Jupiter WASP-74 b, using three medium-class telescopes and employing the telescope-defocusing technique. Most of the transits were monitored through I filters and one was simultaneously observed in five optical (U, g', r', i', z') and three near-infrared (J, H, K) passbands, for a

  • Orbits of Isolated Dwarfs: Local Group Mass and Environmental Quenching
Dwarf galaxies are excellent test particles for studying dynamical properties of the Local Group (LG) and the role of environment in quenching of star formation in low-mass galaxies. In this context, galaxies at the edge of the LG are of particular interest. They enable an estimate of the mass of the LG throught the radius of the turn-around
